Episode description:

This week Jess has the lovely Michel’le on the show. They discuss Michel’le’s individual journey that led her in to the women’s health space, and why she decided to focus on menstrual health in particular. She bravely discusses her own journey with PCOS — including her route to diagnosis, and how she currently manages such.

Michel’le is also a passionate advocate for mental wellbeing, and discusses this topic and its relation to menstrual health. She also delves in to the stigma often associated with both period health and mental health — and how she combats this in her current work.

Michel’le and Jess also chat about the role of creativity and storytelling in activism today. This is highlighted through The Menstrual Project’s work — which creates a safe, and welcoming space for people to share their stories, questions, and thoughts. Such an environment stimulates discusses, and fosters productive and informative conversations, which truly empower all.
