So, what are the different types?

  1. Inflammatory PCOS
  • This is where due to increased inflammation, ovulation is prevented and androgens are released.
  • There are many reasons why you may be experiencing increased inflammation including
    • stress, poor nutrition, environmental toxin exposure

2. Insulin-resistant PCOS

  • This can be triggered by:
    • Smoking, high levels of sugar, environmental pollution, and a range of other reasons

3. Pill-induced PCOS

  • Often this form of PCOS does not last for an extended period of time

4. Hidden PCOS

  • This form of PCOS is easier to manage and is often the result of other reasons including: thyroid disease, vegan/vegetarian diet
